What is Buildings Insurance?

Buildings insurance protects your home should the worst happen. It’s especially important when buying a home and can save you money in the long term, on top of providing priceless peace of mind.

‘Buildings sum insured’ is the amount you insure your home for. This will determine the cost to rebuild your home in the event of damage. Buildings sum insured, however, doesn’t include the cost of the site and if you calculate the value of your home incorrectly or don’t tell your insurer about improvements you’ve made, you run the risk of being underinsured

Our Buildings insurance includes standard cover for fire, escape of water, theft and storm or flood damage. One highlight of our Buildings insurance is our 24-hour Emergency Home Repair helpline that puts you in touch with reputable tradesmen in the event of an emergency in your home.

Furthermore, RedClick’s Home insurance provides a range of extra benefits and you can also choose to cover your personal belongings with Contents insurance. If you want to protect your vehicle, RedClick has you covered with some of the most affordable car insurance in Ireland.

What is covered by "accidental damage" under my Home policy?

Accidental damage is optional and if you have selected it, you'll be covered for any sudden and unexpected damage which is not caused deliberately.

For example, on your Buildings insurance, it would cover you for accidents such as putting a nail through a pipe.

On your Contents insurance, it would cover you for accidentally spilling paint on a carpet.

More information is available in your policy booklet.

You have the right to cancel the automatic renewal of your policy. You can advise us by phone or by email. Please contact us here at any time during the policy if you do not wish to automatically renew.

If you cancel the automatic renewal of the policy, your cover will cease at the renewal date unless you advise us to renew the policy before the renewal date.
